Blue Devils Drop Season Opener Against Mooreland, 29-0

An already banged-up Blue Devils team took the field Friday night in Cordell to face Mooreland in the 2019 season opener. Despite a strong defense that managed to force six turnovers against the visiting Bearcats, the Blue Devils came up short on the night, losing 29-0.

Lady Devils Drop Games At Sentinel, Arapahoe-Butler Tournament

The Lady Blue Devils had a rough week on the softball field, dropping three games on the road. “We lost three games last week but we’re getting better defensively,” said head coach Bobby Blackburn. “Kara Dowell is really playing well at first base. Our outfield is really making strides.

Lady Blue Devils Pick Up Two Home Wins

The Cordell Lady Blue Devils had a great week on the softball diamond, picking up wins against Olustee and Blair. In Monday’s outing, Cordell’s girls looked to be in a bit of trouble, but managed to come back and defeat visiting Olustee 7-6.

Cordell Cross Country Opens Season At Weatherford

The Cordell Cross Country took to the field Saturday, Aug. 24, 2019, for their season opener at a meet in Weatherford. The girls ran a one-mile course, with Kobi Cameron coming in 29th and Jayla Smith finishing in the 42nd position.

Lady Devils Softball Falls To Sayre, 9-1 and 12-0

The young Lady Blue Devils softball team is still working to find their game, falling 9-1 and 12-0 to the Lady Eagles of Sayre last Tuesday, Aug. 13. “We just couldn’t get the bats working with runners on,” said head coach Bobby Blackburn.

Cordell Pitcher Earns National Recognition

Cordell native Maci Thain, who helped power her Oklahoma Freedom 10U fast-pitch softaball team to the national championship, was recognized with the All-Tournament Most Valuable Player Award last month.

Softball Practice Begins In Cordell

The Cordell Lady Blue Devils fast-pitch softball team opened their practice schedule Monday, July 29, in preparation for the fall season. Head coach Bobby Blackburn said he has 16 girls on this year’s team, but hasn’t yet finalized the roster.
