Cordell High School's soccer teams kicked off their season with a series of challenging matchups, facing off against formidable opponents in their first games of the year. The action started on Friday as both the girls' and boys' teams traveled to Weatherford for their season openers.

SIXTH GRADE BOYS NET UNDEFEATED SEASON

Cordell Elementary’s 6th-grade boys’ basketball team completed their regular 2023/2024 school season undefeated. In addition to an undefeated season, the boys achieved a phenomenal record of 8-2 in the Clinton League, which started on January 13. They claimed the title of Tournament Champions this past weekend in the league. “These boys play hard and share the ball. They are a tough defensive group and play well together; fun to watch,” Coach Vaughn Blankenship said.

Three Cordell students make wrestling headlines

Three Cordell students will power their way to the top in wrestling as they battle in the upcoming OKWA 46th Annual State Tournament in Oklahoma City at the Jim Norick Arena this Friday and Saturday, February 16-17. Preslie Dickerson, Mason Hileman, and Baylor Moore completed in Regionals in Norman, OK, this past weekend, each coming out on top with Dickerson, 6U 43 lb Girls 1st Place, Hileman, 8U 52 lb open 4th Place, and Moore, 15U 126 lb Girls 2nd Place. Another wrestling tournament win for Preslie Dickerson

Preslie Dickerson, of Bessie, OK, earned the State Champion title at the OKUSA State Tournament this past weekend in Oklahoma City. Dickerson was named Outstanding Wrestler after winning all three matches by pin in the fastest time in the 6U girls division.
