Cordell’s wrestling season nearly came to an end this past weekend at the regional tournament held in Geary. Sophomore Shane Perkins may be moving ahead, though, as he finished in sixth place, which earned his a spot as an alternate for the state meet.

Lady Devils’ Season Ends Against Walters

The Cordell Lady Blue Devils traveled to Walters last week to face another band of Lady Blue Devils in the first round of district tournament play. Despite exceptional defensive play, however, Cordell’s girls were outmatched by the Walters Lady Blue Devils, and were eliminated in the first round with a 38-16 loss.

The Cordell Blue Devils started their week off strong on Senior Night, with their second defeat of Navajo for the season. After closely trailing the Indians for three quarters, Cordell’s boys put on a burst of scoring in the final period to claim the 62-58 win.

Lady Devils Lose To Navajo, Snyder As Season Winds Down

Tuesday evening marked the last home game of the season for the Lady Blue Devils, and the last trip around Cordell’s hardwood for seniors Makenzie Hougland and Kamdyn Davis. Despite Senior Night adrenaline and emotion, though, the Lady Devils were unable to defend the home court against the Indians of Navajo and walked off the court with a 60-23 loss.
