The Cloud Chief HCE met July 8, 2019, at the Cloud Chief Community Center for their monthly meeting. The flag salute opened the meeting. The group sang “Take Me Out To The Ole Fairgrounds.”

Health Department Warns About High Temps and Children’s Safety

As temperatures climb, so does the risk for heat-related illness due to hyperthermia (overheating). The Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH) reminds parents that children’s bodies overheat easily, and infants and children under age 4 are among those at greatest risk for heat-related illnesses.

Cordell’s Market Street Deli & More is expanding its business hours and menu offerings, making the transition from a lunch-time sandwich and salad stop to a full-service lunch and dinner destination.

Treatment Court Continues Run Of Success

Yanet Rodriguez started down her dark path at a very young age. Growing up as one of eight children and being raised by a single mother in California, Yanet fell into the gang and drug scene early. She started smoking methamphetamine at the age of 12.

Miller Wins Inaugural BBQ Cordell Event

After the smoke cleared and the judges voted, the inaugural BBQ Cordell Sliced Brisket Championship went in the books with David Miller picking up the title as Cordell’s first brisket champion.

Cordell Schools To Offer Blended Learning Option

With the stated goal of providing a more flexible and adaptive learning environment for students, Cordell Public Schools will be offering a new blended learning option for junior high and high school students beginning this fall.

Corn Man Charged With Multiple Domestic Assault Crimes

A 38-year-old Corn man has been charged with four domestic abuse-related crimes stemming back to a case from 2017. Kalon Kyle Hendricks was charged with two felony counts of child abuse by injury and two misdemeanor counts of domestic assault and battery in the presence of a minor.
