Equity Bank Hosts Pet Adoption Event

Working with the Cordell Animal Shelter Project (CASP), the Cordell branch of Equity Bank hosted a pet adoption event Saturday, Sept. 14, 2019. At the end of the day, five dogs found forever homes and none were returned to the pound or foster care.

Abatement Costs To Be Added To Utility Bills

The New Cordell City Council voted Monday, Sept. 16, 2019, to adopt a new ordinance that would allow the city to add the cost of abatement to the utility bill of the property owner, occupant, or both.

Cordell Youth Gives Birthday Money to Fire Department

An 11-year-old Cordell girl flipped the switch on her birthday and decided to give a present. Alee Syfert, daughter of Heath and Lena Syfert, pooled up the money she’d been given as birthday presents and donated it all, $300, to the Cordell Fire Department.

Theater Operators Address Council Concerns In Letter

During Monday’s meeting of the New Cordell City Council, council members were given a letter sent by Karrie Kiehn-Varner regarding the operation of the Washita Theatre. The letter was in response to citizen and council concerns expressed during the Sept. 3, 2019, meeting of the council.

CPS To Host Title I Meeting

The Elk City Chamber of Commerce invites everyone to the 46th Annual Elk City Fall Festival on Saturday, Sept. 21, from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 22 from 12 p.m. until 5 p.m. at the Elk City Convention Center at 1016 East Airport Industrial Road. Admission is free.
