Area Woman Arrested On Drug, Fugitive Harboring Charges

Layken Makenna Thompson, a resident of rural Washita County, could be facing life in prison following her Sept. 10, 2019, arrest on charges of drug possession with intent to distribute and harboring a fugitive from justice.

Modern Homemakers met at the home of Karen Turner at 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 5, 2019. Karen Turner served BBQ sloppy joes, cole slaw, chips, pudding fruit salad, and strawberry shortcake for dessert. President Paula Stafford called the meeting to order with members saluting the flag.

The Washita County Farm Bureau held an annual meeting and county resolutions meeting Sept. 11, 2019. Snacks were served an an opening prayer given. Larry Peck called the meeting to order at 4:30 p.m. Pledge to the US and Oklahoma flags were given.

School Supply Project To Serve Indian Taco Dinner Sept. 20
