Washita County’s Fire Departments hosted the annual Day at the Firehouse for Cordell Elementary’s Pre-K and Kindergarten classes. Children enjoyed a morning at the Cordell Fire Department learning about fire safety, sliding down the fire pole, and testing the fire hoses.

Washita County Clubs Celebrate National 4-H Week

Although the month of October is typically awash in the color orange and decorated with pumpkins, Oklahoma 4-H’ers celebrate with four-leaf clovers and the color green.The first full week of October is National 4-H Week. This year’s theme is Beyond Ready!
