The Cordell class of 2021 racked up big dollars when it came to earning scholarships for continuing education at the college and career tech level. . The group total came to $811,900. Individual student awards are as follows: Evan Anderson: University of Oklahoma Academic Achievement $2,000.

•Cordell Fire Dept. will be selling baked potatoes with brisket Saturday evening, May 22. Cost is $10 each. •Cordell Lions Club will hold its annual golf tournament on Saturday, May 22nd. See flyer on page 3 for more details.

The total number testing positive in the county is now 1,081. It was 1,079 at the last reporting, an increase of only two. It was 1,075 three weeks ago. Four weeks ago the number was 1,074. 1,059 cases have recovered.

Brody Bullard was born on July 28, 2002, in Elk City, Oklahoma. Growing up he attended Canute Public Schools all the way from kindergarten to his senior year. Brody’s favorite hobbies include: playing the drums, listening to music, playing video games, and playing airsoft.

Length of time for the project, what side of town will be worked on, and the possibility to lose water were some of the things discussed during the meeting.

Cordell’s Upper Elementary Academic Team, consisting of fifth and sixth graders, recently won the District, Regional, and Area meets. “We won all three! This is the first time in the 6 years since we started the elementary team that this has happened,” Coach Kathy Wedel said.

■Cordell Memorial Hospital is asking for volunteers to help refurbish the flower beds and areas around the hospital. Anyone interested can meet on Thursday, May 13th at 3:00 p.m. ■The Washita County Assessor’s office will be closed to attend a meeting beginning Thursday, May 13th at 11:00 a.m.
