A boating accident on Lake Texoma resulted in two fatalities early Saturday morning. According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol collision report, the fatal accident happened around 7:30 am on Saturday, July 10th on Lake Texoma between Wood Island and Sanders Island View area.
A 1999 Falcon Striper boat experienced a steering malfunction. The vessel was driven by 67-year-old Clifford Hines of Ponca City, one of 3 brothers who were aboard the Falcon boat.
The malfunction caused the boat to turn sharply to the left, ejecting Clifford and his 2 brothers, 80-year-old Devered “Dee” Hines of Cordell and 62-year-old Eddie Wayne Hines of Duncan. After the brothers were ejected from the boat, the boat began circling all three brothers, eventually striking each one.
