Alfalfa has a long history as the go-to feed for farm animals and poultry. Aquaculture has also discovered the power of alfalfa by refining it into a high-protein fish food. But what has not been widely recognized is alfalfa’s importance to the environment.

Fight for Jen benefit softball tournament raises over $8000

Monday August 23, 2021, Jennifer Cary was presented with her check of money raised from the #FightForJen softball tournament. A total of $4,431.90 was raised and matched dollar for dollar by the Cordell Masonic Lodge #127 A. F. & A. M. for a grand total of $8,863.80.

Last week, the Cordell Chamber of Commerce hosted this year’s 2021 Bingo Nights event during the Washita County Free Fair. Bingo Nights, which has been a part of the fair for many years, gives local businesses a chance to help promote their work and their presence in the community.

The Washita County Farm Bureau met July 27,2021, at 6pm in the Washita County Farm Bureau Office. The meeting started with a meal and a prayer led by Jimmy Piercey. The Women’s Committee moved to the front office and Mary Peck opened the meeting.
