Ramsey King
With a vast array of students throughout its schools, Cordell has plenty of kids that its teachers think are worthy of highlighting.
We reached out to ag teacher Kaleb Selman to see which of his students he thought was worthy of the title, and this week’s Student of the Week is Ramsey King.
King, who is the daughter of Tiffany Weese and Don King, said she has started off her freshman year on a good note. Though Cordell Schools is only about three weeks into its school year, King says she has had a pretty good year so far. Getting to attend Selman’s ag class is what King said is her favorite part about school, and while she does enjoy her time in ag, King also participates in both softball and cheerleading.
In order to help her stay motivated throughout the year, King looks to her grades as she said that her grades matter a lot this year to keep her eligible to play sports.
Keeping her grades high will likely pay off in the long run as King says she hopes to attend the University Of Oklahoma College of Medicine as well as play any sport for OU after she graduates.
Sports seem to hold a special place in her heart because while looking back at her time in school she said that the bus rides to away games for softball have been some of her favorite memories.
While King puts a lot of focus into her school work and sports, she does take some time to herself to enjoy some of her favorite things such as watching Netflix and doing “A LOT” of online shopping. Overall, Selman said that King has been a very good student this year and has continuously helped out her peers.
“She is a really good kid. She works hard and is always willing to go the extra mile for herself and others,” Selman said. “[She’s] always willing to help others so that they can achieve.”
