Meet the Principal: Kenny Horn to head Cordell Elementary

As this school year is coming to a close and a new one approaches, Cordell Elementary students can expect to be greeted by a new friendly face. Starting in the fall of 2022, Kenny Horn will take over as Cordell Elementary Principal following the departure of Mike Higgins.

FIRE & EMS TRAINING

Cordell Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) conducted training at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 25. This training course consisted of patient packaging, rope rescue, vehicle extrication in a low angle setting, trauma assessment, team dynamics, and vehicle stabilization techniques.

Brooke Gatlin slated to take the bench as Washita County Associate District Judge

Washita County native Brooke Gatlin is excited to announce her election as Washita County’s next Associate District Judge after filing for the position last week, and ultimately running unopposed. The seat will become vacant due to the upcoming retirement of Judge Chris Kelly.

School Board busy filling empty positions in Cordell

In meetings held on April 7th and April 11th, the School Board of Cordell Public Schools voted to hire multiple staff members for the 2022-2023 school year. The Board hired Kenny Horn as the elementary Principal.
