Cordell residents asked to cooperate with water restriction

Keeping sufficient water in the City’s water towers and ground storage tanks is essential in providing emergency services such as fire protection, as well as providing necessary household water supply and pressure.

Due to ongoing drought conditions and one water tower being down for renovations, the demand on the wellfield pumps and Foss Reservoir have strained the water supply available.

The City of Cordell has asked that citizens use the following guidelines for outdoor watering:

For outdoor irrigation of landsaping with sprinkler systems and hose-end sprinklers, including hand-held nozzles, soaker hoses and drip irrigation systems, residences and businesses with even numbered addresses are asked to water only on even-numbered days for a period not to exceed two (2) hours between 7:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. only.

Residences and businesses with odd numbered addresses are are asked to water only on odd-numbered days for a period not to exceed two (2) hours between 7:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. only.
