Senior Citizens site in dire need of donations

On any given weekday you can find an assortment of hungry diners enjoying lunch at the Cordell Senior Citizens Center meal site. All ages are welcomed, but it is the older generation who particularly value the time spent with a nourishing meal and the conversation of friends.

EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY

The City of Cordell is changing the days to dump tree limbs at the landfill. Citizens of Cordell will be able to dispose of tree limbs on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. and from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. at the cost of $10 per load.

Washita County Historical Museum set to welcome visitors

A little bit of history is opening up right around the corner. After being shuttered for many years, the Washita County Historical Museum will re-open to the public beginning next Friday, June 3. Confirmed dates are every Friday through July 22, 2:00 to 4:00 pm.

Time running out for registration to vote in June 28 primary election

June 3, 2022 is the last day to apply for voter registration in order to be eligible to vote in the June 28th 2022, Federal, State County Statutory Primary Election Washita County Election Board Assistant Secretary Ashton Hymer said today.

Southwestern Oklahoma State University recently released the names of students listed on the spring Dean’s and President’s honor rolls, and many Washita County students made the grade.

Waverly Schneberger, 10, and her horse Spirit won the Heart of Oklahoma Youth Rodeo Association barrel racing finals in Shawnee this past weekend. She also qualified as a Top 8 All Around Cowgirl, Top 8 Goat Tying and was a Pole Bending finalist.

Canute Public Schools Top Honor Grads

Valedictorian Colby Mason is the Vice President of his senior class with a 4.20 GPA. He is involved in gifted and talented and is the co-editor of the yearbook. Colby is the son of Chuck and Amanda Maddox and the grandson of Mike and Sandra Maddox, Bob Moler, and Dan and Melda Ueland.

Lions Club golf fundraiser to take place this weekend

Come out and support the Cordell Lions Club this Saturday, May 21, at the 13th Annual Lions Club Golf Tournament. You will enjoy an un-fore-gettable day of golf on the greens. The tournament will take place at Crooked Creek Golf Course in Cordell. Registration begins at 8 a.m.
