Fire near Wheeler Brothers in Cordell

Many homes left without power after truck tears through electrical lines

Late Sunday afternoon a semi truck allegedly bound for California somehow ended up in a residential area of Cordell and caused a dangerous situation that resulted in many homes in the northwest part of town being left without electricity until the early morning hours Monday.

Driver escapes injury when local cattle truck overturns in Oklahoma City

On Sunday morning, September 18, around 10:30 a.m. Oklahoma City Fire responded to the site of an overturned cattle truck in Oklahoma City near Interstate 44 and Southwest 59th Street. In the truck were approximately 105 cattle which were trapped inside.

FIRST RESPONDERS CLIMB IN REMEMBRANCE

Saturday, September 10, Cordell, Bessie and Corn Fire Departments took to the stairs of the Washita County Courthouse at 5:30 a.m. where they began to climb the equivalent of 110 flights of stairs in honor of the 21st anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks.
