Wreck claims life of Corn resident

A Corn woman died Monday afternoon after being involved in a one vehicle accident in Washita County.

According to the collision report provided by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the accident occurred September 5, at approximately 15:26 hours on State Highway 54, four miles south of E 1110 Rd, three miles east and 1.5 miles north of Corn, OK when a 2012 GMC Yukon driven by 77-year-old Judy Reimer departed the roadway to the right and struck a culvert, then rolled an undetermined number of times and struck a fence.

Troopers said seat belt were equipped but were in use by the passenger only.

Judy Reimer was pronounced dead at the scene by Lifeguard EMS and was transported to Lockstone Funeral Home in Weatherford.

The passenger of the vehicle, 53-year-old Marni Reimer also of Corn, was transported to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City where she was admitted in critical condition with head and leg injuries.

OHP said the cause of the collision is still under investigation.
