Washita County Clerk Kristen Dowell was recently selected, at the annual County Officers and Deputies Association of Oklahoma conference, to serve as the President for the 2026-2027 term.Dowell is the third person to represent Washita County in this position since 1946.

Washita County’s aeronautical artists are getting to work on a high-flying canvas.The first of five Delta Air Lines airplanes landed at Burns Flat’s Premium Aerospace Center (PAC) Oklahoma runway for a fresh coat of paint.The Boeing 757 will be painted in PAC’s new, state-of-the-art Hangar 234.
