Homecoming excitement is in the air as Cordell Public Schools prepares to celebrate one of the most anticipated traditions of the fall. The Blue Devils will celebrate Homecoming on Friday, September 25, with a full day of festivities leading up to the evening matchup against the Burns Flat-Dill City Eagles.
This year’s Homecoming Court includes sophomore Gingi Espinoza, escorted by Carter Owens; junior Delana Price, escorted by Conner Gregg; and senior Audrey Gatlin, escorted by Hayden Melzer.
Also joining the Homecoming Court and taking part in the evening’s festivities will be Flower Girl Ryan Corbin and Crown Bearer Liam Espinosa.
The celebration will be Friday afternoon, with the traditional Homecoming parade at 1:30 p.m. and participants lining up beginning at 1:00 p.m. The parade will circle the courthouse square, giving students, families, businesses, and community members a chance to show their Blue Devil pride. Following the parade, everyone is invited to gather on the East Courtyard for a community pep assembly to help get the Blue Devils fired up for Friday night.
Of course, September in Oklahoma can still bring plenty of heat. To keep students and participants safe, the school has prepared both a Plan A and Plan B for the day’s activities. Plan A will follow the traditional afternoon schedule. However, if temperatures and the heat index are expected to climb above 95 degrees, Plan B will move the parade and pep assembly to the morning hours.
A final decision will be made closer to Homecoming based on weather conditions, and Cordell Public Schools will announce any schedule changes.
After an afternoon filled with school spirit, Homecoming festivities will continue at Cordell Blue Devil Stadium that evening. The Homecoming Coronation Ceremony will begin at 6:00 p.m., when the 2026 Homecoming Queen will be crowned. The Blue Devils will then take the field against the BFDC Eagles, with kickoff set for 7:00 p.m.
Fans can also come hungry! The Cordell Band Boosters will host their annual Spaghetti Supper from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., making it easy to grab a meal before heading to the stadium for coronation and football.
Homecoming is more than just a football game; it is a chance for students, alumni, families, and the entire Cordell community to come together and celebrate the Blue Devils!
So break out the Blue & White, find a spot around the courthouse square, cheer loud at the pep assembly, and fill the stands Friday night as Cordell celebrates Homecoming 2026. GO BIG BLUE!
