Cordell High School Soccer finishes week of challenging matches

The Cordell High School soccer teams kicked off their week with a challenging set of matches against Classen. The girls' team fought hard but ultimately fell short with a close score of 3-2. Rylee Chagollia and Jacie McCown showcased their scoring abilities, each putting one in the net. However, the boys' team encountered a tough opponent, resulting in a difficult 10-0 loss. On Tuesday, the Cordell girls' soccer team found their stride on the home field, delivering an outstanding performance against Newkirk. With a resounding 9-2 victory, the team displayed remarkable offensive prowess. Annrayia Harrison and Rylee Chagollia led the charge with four goals each, while McKinsey Gray contributed one goal to the scoreboard. 

The game was marked by excellent teamwork, evident in the numerous assists recorded. Unfortunately, there was no boys' game scheduled for the day. The Cordell soccer teams traveled to compete in the Weatherford Tournament on Thursday, facing tough competition from various schools. The girls' team encountered a challenging matchup against Kingfisher, resulting in a 9-1 loss. Despite the setback, Rylee Chagollia managed to find the back of the net for Cordell. Similarly, the boys' team faced a tough defeat against Kingfisher, ending with a score of 10-0. In their second game of the tournament, the Cordell girls' team bounced back with an impressive 10-0 victory over Purcell. Rylee Chagollia, Annrayia Harrison, McKinsey Gray, and Carlie Banks all contributed to the team's dominant performance, showcasing their offensive firepower. 

Meanwhile, the boys' team struggled to find their footing, suffering an 8-1 loss against their opponents, with Dason Ramsey scoring the lone goal for Cordell. Wrapping up the week at the Weatherford Tournament on Friday, both Cordell teams faced off against Elgin in their respective matchups. The girls' team fought valiantly but fell short with a final score of 3-1, with Rylee Chagollia once again finding the back of the net. Similarly, the boys' team encountered a tough opponent, ending the game with an 8-0 loss against Elgin. Despite the challenges faced throughout the week, both the girls' and boys' teams displayed resilience and determination on the field. As they continue to refine their skills and work together as a team, the Cordell soccer teams are poised to overcome obstacles and achieve success in their upcoming matches.
