The Cordell High School Athletic Department hosted its 1st Annual Cordell Blue Devil Athletics Golf Tournament on Saturday, August 8, at Crooked Creek Golf Course. The inaugural event brought out 19 teams for a day of golf, fellowship and support for Cordell student-athletes.
The tournament featured a four-person scramble format, with teams competing in three flights.
Team Helios was crowned the A Flight Winner and Overall Champion. B Flight honors went to the team of Gary Madison, James Higginbotham, Roy Dewees and John Newer, while Team Sonic captured C Flight. The tournament raised a little over $11,000 for Cordell High School Athletics. The funds will help provide additional resources and opportunities for Cordell student-athletes and athletic programs.
The Athletic Department would like to extend a special thank-you to Crooked Creek Golf Course and Valerie Farris for hosting the event, as well as the many volunteers who helped prepare the course and make tournament day a success.
