The Oklahoma Home & Community Education Association of Washita County recently held their spring county council meeting. During this meeting, 2023 Award Winners and new members were recognized.

The Dill Work and Play met March 12, 2024 in Elk City in the home of Wilma Gathright. Jane Shull called the meeting to order at 1:30 with a welcome to everyone. Anna Pricket led the group saying the Pledge and led the song Dixie Land.

Now on the 18th day of March 2024, the County Commissioners in and for Washita County met in regular session with Chairman Goeringer calling the meeting to order. Chairman Goeringer asked Kristen Dowell, County Clerk, for roll call.

APRIL 2ND IS ELECTION DAY: TWO SCHOOL BOARD SEATS TO BE FILLED

Washita County voters will head to the polls on April 2nd to select two Cordell Schools Board of Education candidates to fill Office No. 4 and the unexpired term of Office No. 3. Candidates seeking Office No. 4 are incumbent Levi Jones and Danielle Dick Ivey. Parker Christian and Cole Gregg are vying for Office No. 3.
