Mountain View Free Fair continues the tradition July 31- Aug 2

The Mountain View Free Fair will begin on Thursday, July 31 and run through Saturday evening, August 2, 2025.The Fair operates Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings with special entertainment and live music on each evening. Local volunteers run carnival rides and games starting at 8:00 p.m.

Cordell Schools announce new student enrollment and secondary school schedule-pickup days

New students wishing to enroll in Cordell schools may do so on July 29th from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. The enrollment will be held for junior high and high school students in Mrs. Campbell’s office at the high school and the enrollment for elementary students will be held in the elementary lobby.

Clinic Pharmacy closing its doors July 25th

Cordell’s Clinic Pharmacy, located at 1312 N. Glenn English, has announced it will officially close its doors at the end of the business day on Friday, July 25.In a public statement, Clinic Pharmacy expressed gratitude to the community for its loyal patronage over the years.

Pedestrian/vehicle collision takes life of Washita County man

A Washita County man is dead after being struck by a vehicle on I-40 early Saturday morning. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the fatal collision happened at approximately 2:10 a.m. on July 19 near mile marker 45 eastbound, about two miles west of Canute in Washita County.

Free meals and supplies equal big support for Blue Devils

Cordell Public Schools is taking meaningful steps to support local families once again this school year. In an announcement made last week, Cordell Elementary shared that all students in grades Pre-K through 6th grade will receive free school supplies for the 2025-2026 academic year.

Since the demolition of Cordell’s ‘Mural Building,’ pigeons have invaded the downtown square. The flock formerly roosted inside the dilapidated structure. City officials are seeking a solution to their messy presence and hope to reduce their numbers soon.
