Cordell native W. Scott Mason IV has been appointed as the new director for the American Indian Environmental Office in the Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of International and Tribal Affairs.

Washita County 4-H held the annual 4-H Awards Program on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at the Washita County Activity Center in Cordell. 4-H members and leaders were recognized for their hard work and support for the 2018-2019 program year.

Highway Named In Honor Of Fallen Washita County Sheriff’s Deputy

Family members of fallen Washita County Sheriff’s Deputy Clifford Phillip Payne gathered in Oklahoma City with Governor Kevin Stitt and Rep. Todd Russ to participate in a ceremonial bill signing for HB2311, which named a section of State Highway 54 in Payne’s honor.
