Cordell Man Charged With Four Child Sex Felonies

Dakota William Rogers, a 23-year-old Cordell man, could spend the rest of his life behind bars following his arrest in Cordell. Williams was charged Feb. 24, 2020, with three felony counts of child sexual abuse and one felony count of possessing child pornography.

Harrel Appointed to Board of Regents

Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt last week announced the appointment of Jimmy D. Harrel to the Oklahoma State University A & M Board of Regents. Harrel is a banker, farmer, and rancher and a native of Leedey. In 1985 he became the owner of the Bank of Western Oklahoma in Elk City.

The Cordell FFA Officers attended FFA Day at the Capitol on February 18th, 2020. The officers attended a legislative session spearheaded by Representative Todd Russ, toured the Capitol building, and met with fellow officers from around the state.

Western Technology Center’s Biomedical Academy wants to bring a smile to faces everywhere. As they continue their Smile Campaign this year, the group made a stop at the Cordell Christian Home on Feb. 13.

Wildlife Commission Approves Rule Changes; Keeps Deer Gun Season Length At 16 Days

Oklahoma’s deer gun hunting season will not be lengthened but instead will remain 16 days long following the Oklahoma Wildlife Conservation Commission’s approval of administrative rules during its regular meeting Tuesday.
