The COVID-19 pandemic has continued to spread throughout Oklahoma at record levels. During the last week, from June 22 - June 29, the number of new confirmed cases reached 3,024, up from 2,316 during the previous week.

Former City Employee Charged With Embezzlement

Miranda McGaha, former billing and human resources clerk for the City of Cordell, was formally charged last week with a single felony count of embezzlement. McGaha is accused of fraudulently taking more than $41,000 from the city between September 2018 and November 2019.

Cordell Grad Named All American Scholar

Heston Brown, Cordell High School graduate and standout golfer at Southwestern Oklahoma State University, has been named as one of the 2019-2020 Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars. Brown is one of just 99 Division II athletes to receive the honor.
