Heston Brown, Cordell High School graduate and standout golfer at Southwestern Oklahoma State University, has been named as one of the 2019-2020 Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars. Brown is one of just 99 Division II athletes to receive the honor. He joins fellow Bulldogs Kason Cook and Gregor Weck on the All-America Scholar team.

Only 614 athletes, among Division I, Division II, NAIA, and NJCAA, were chosen for the team nationwide.

According to a SWOSU press release, to be eligible for Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar status an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior academically in Division I, II, III, and NAIA, or receiving their Associate’s Degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. In addition, they must have a stroke-average under 76.0 in Division I, 78.0 in Division II, 78.0 in NAIA and 79.0 in Division III, 77.0 in NJCAA, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. For 2019-20 only, they must participate in 40% of the team’s competitive rounds.

“I am extremely proud of what each Heston, Kason and Gregor have accomplished this season, both in the classroom and on the golf course,” SWOSU Head Golf Coach Brad Fleetwood said. “All three of them are great examples of what it means to be a student-athlete and fantastic representatives for our university.”
