The number of people in Washita County testing positive for COVID-19 now stands at 86 and that’s an increase of 22 over a week ago. Last week the number was 64. Two weeks ago it was 46.

Washita County Wreck Kills Elk City Woman

An Elk City woman died in a one-vehicle traffc collision early last Friday morning in the Burns Flat city limits, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports. State Trooper Aaron Hunter identified the woman who died as Daniell R. Raya, 31.

Cordell native Scott Hines, who has been hospitalized since July 17 battling COVID-19, is out of Intensive Care and has been moved to a regular room, his wife Becky said last weekend. “They (hospital per sonnel) took the trach out, the feeding tube out and he passed the swallow test,” she said.
