Cordell Academic Foundation selling chances on $500 meat pack

The annual fundraiser for the Cordell Academic Foundation is underway. The fundraiser being offered this year is a $500 meat pack from Mike’s Meats. Donations for an opportunity to draw this meat pack are $10 for one chance or $50 for five chances.

Around the coin is the motto of all drug courts along with the green ribbon that symbolizes Judge Ellis Cabaniss who was the Associate District Judge in Washita County that started this drug court.

Described as a blending of substance abuse treatment and the judicial system by Associate District Judge Christopher Kelly, the Washita-Custer County Treatment Court Program held its latest graduation commencement earlier this month.

Cordell Fire Department’s Halloween fundraiser will wrap up this weekend

The Cordell Volunteer Fire Department has brought the spirit of Halloween to Cordell once again with the production of their Haunted Morgue. The Haunted Morgue is a two-story, multi room haunted house that invites visitors from all over to a fun and fright filled night.

This week two BF-DC members were delegates at West Action Conference in Weatherford. WAC was a three day conference jam packed with fun, there were 7 different workshops to choose from and a tour of the Tom Stafford Air and Space museum, two dances and 4 keynote speeches.
