Burns Flat couple could face life in prison after abuse charges

According to a report filed in Washita County District Court on September 1, 2022, two Washita County residents, Brandon and Chelsea Aaron of Burns Flat, are facing multiple charges resulting from an investigation concerning illegal treatment of their children.

Voters to decide on implementation of New Cordell city ordinance

In a special session held on August 23, the New Cordell City Council met to discuss and vote on an ordinance which will change three city positions from elected to appointed. Ultimately, the Council decided to allow registered voters of Cordell to determine whether the resolution will be adopted.
