Most people know they have freedom of speech. However, most people don’t know about the Oklahoma Citizens Participation Act (OCPA). This statute (summary attached) is a protection for all persons, including news media, if a meritless libel or slander lawsuit is filed against you.

Corn Bible Academy students compete at academic Tournament of Champions

Corn Bible Academy’s students excelled in the statewide academic Tournament of Champions at Redlands Community College earlier in May. There were 52 high schools from all class sizes present, represented by 725 students who took 1644 tests.

Charges dismissed against former Cordell Police Officer

Charges were dismissed on May 18th against a former Cordell Police officer who had been accused of Domestic Assault and Battery In the Presence of a Minor, which is a misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in jail and/or a fine of up to $5,000.

Kids’ Summer Movie Series has successful opening week

The Washita Theatre kicked off its Monday afternoon summer movie series on May 22nd with the family favorite, Despicable Me.
More than 80 attendees enjoyed an afternoon of popcorn, candy and a movie.
The series will continue each Monday through July 24th (excluding July 4th) with a different 2 p.

Free concert series to be offered at Clinton

The Levitt AMP Clinton Music Series provides a free, family-friendly concert series in Clinton Oklahoma at the Bandshell in the Historic Mc-Clain-Rogers Park which is located on Route 66. These concerts will happen every Friday. from June 2- August 4, 2023.
