Cordell JH Football snags win against Apache Warriors

Cordell Blue Devils’ Junior High football team brought their A-game to the field as they traveled to Apache to face off with the Warriors Monday night.The final score was Blue Devils 28 and Apache 0. Next week the team will play at home against the Merritt Oilers.

Fifty years ago, the fall of 1975 brought one of the most remarkable football seasons in Cordell Blue Devil history. The small-town squad rolled through the regular season and district playoffs with skill, will, and a flair for producing headlines that are still remembered today.

The Cordell Lady Blue Devils traveled down to Cache on Thursday to play in the Wichita Mountain Classic. The tournament was played on Thursday and Saturday. On Thursday, the Lady Blue Devils won a tight contest with the Velma Alma Lady Comets. It came down to the wire, but we won 7-6.
