Golf Fundraiser for Scott Hines Goes Well

A golf fundraiser for a Cordell native who has been battling COVID-19 for more than two months exceeded its goal, the coordinator of the tournament said this week. The fundraiser for Scott Hines was held last Saturday to help the family with their expenses during his long hospital stay.

The Lady Blue Devil Softball team is coming off of a busy week, having played four games within a five day span. Despite the courageous effort put forth by the girls, they were unable to bring home a win.

CHS Football Kicks Off 2020 Season

Despite the valiant efforts of the Cordell Blue Devil football team, the season opener resulted in a loss by three points. The Blue Devils kicked off the game, starting the Eagles on offense.

CHS Football Opens Season With Good Scrimmage

The Cordell Blue Devils, Merritt Oilers, and the Watonga Eagles battled fiercely in a three way scrimmage Friday night, testing how well they will do in actual gameplay. The scrimmage started as a play by play, with the offensive team switching out after six plays.

CHS Softball Prepares For Tournament

The Cordell Lady Blue Devils worked hard battling the Granite Panthers, but unfortunately lost the game. Head coach Whitney Misak told The Beacon that the girls hit the ball very well, they just left too many on base.

Are You Ready For Some Football

For the last several weeks, maybe months, it was unclear if there would be any kind of football season - high school, college and professional. Barring something unforeseen, however, football season will get underway for Cordell and Burns Flat-Dill City this Friday night! (The less important college and NFL seasons are also scheduled to begin soon.) The Cordell Blue Devils are scheduled to travel to Sayre to face the Eagles at 7:00 on Friday, August 28.
