On Monday, April 22, 2024, Agents with the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics’Marijuana Enforcement Team (MET) served a Search Warrant at Bright Stones LLC. in Lindsey, Oklahoma (10942 170th Street) as part of an ongoing investigation into illegal activity involving this marijuana growing facility. OBN Spokesman Mark Woodward says the investigation began in January of 2024 when Missouri State Police stopped a fake Amazon van for several traffic violations after entering Missouri from Oklahoma.

Cordell Board of Education met in regular session Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. in the Board of Education Room. The meeting was called to order by board President Jeff Jaronek. Cordell’s cowboy poet Lavern “Straw” Berry will be featured On April 27th in a western artist collaborative at Cowboy Hill, a performance venue near Binger. Berry grew up in west central Oklahoma on a ranch in Washita County.

Council approves City municipal pool details for 2024 season

During their meeting on Monday night, Cordell City Council set the municipal pool’s operating schedule as well as pool rules with a few changes from last year. If all goes as planned Cordell’s swimming pool will open on May 26th with a free swim day.
