Cordell Blue Devil All-Sports Banquet

The Cordell High School All-Sports Banquet was held Wednesday, May 5. The function was catered by From Scratch Bakery, and gave student athletes an opportunity to showcase their achievements.

Blue Devils sports: The week in review

BASEBALL After some tough playoff matches, the Cordell baseball boys officially finished off the 2021 season with a record of 17-8. Head Coach Bobby Blackburn commended the team on their efforts during the season, knowing that the boys worked hard to acclimate themselves in such a peculiar year.

Senior Blue Devil gives it all he’s got, both on the field and in life

Bryson Ramirez hasn’t always played soccer, but found a love for the sport with the help of Head Coach Darrin Taylor. Getting his start in his freshman year, Ramirez’s soccer skills have grown substantially since his first debut on the field, thanks to Taylor‘s unbiased support.

Cordell Senior overcomes health obstacle to find success

Picking up soccer was a shot in the dark for senior Spencer Williams, who was talked into the decision by a friend. “Me and my friend Tugger Selman talked about me doing soccer in my senior year just for the experience. It’s my last chance so I figured I would give it a shot,” Spencer said.

Transferring from Enid schools to Cordell in her fifth grade year was a rocky shift for Piper Gallagher. Though she fits in well with the Cordell crowd now, at first Gallagher experienced issues with mental health, and struggled with the culture shock of moving abruptly to a small town.

Karate Academy students show skills at Relay for Life

Students from the Chris Pollman Karate Academy in Weatherford got a chance to showcase some of the things they have learned when they were invited to perform at SWOSU’s Relay for Life on Friday, April 9th.
