Verlon Homer Bence, former resident of Dill City, passed away peacefully on Nov. 8, 2019, in Oklahoma City.

Verlon worked for Cecil Black at the Sinclair Station in Dill City for several years. He also worked at the Goodyear tire store in Cordell through two owners as an on-site tractor tire repair specialist. He made his own business in Oklahoma city as a freelance home repairman. In his youth, Verlon was a drag racing and custom car enthusiast, with his custom ‘50 Merc being published in Car Craft magazine. With his helpful soul, it is an understatement to say Verlon touched the hearts of many people everywhere he went in his 82 years.
