Craig Holman, the former owner of the dilapidated building located at 106 S. College Street in Cordell who was fined more than $1,800 earlier this month in Cordell’s city court, has filed a notice of appeal in Washita County District Court.

Cordell Christian Home residents were treated to a special show last week, full of dogs and a pony dressed as a clown. Pony Palooza and Cowgirls With A Purpose, of Elk City, came to the home bringing a trained pony and several dogs to entertain the assembled residents.

The eastern half of Cordell was without power last Thursday afternoon, as a broken line forced city officials to cut power at the substation in order to safely repair the break.

Despite cold weather keeping many of the area’s nursing homes away, the Cordell Christian Home hosted the area-wide bingo game last Thursday to a packed house. In addition to Cordell residents, 10 nursing home residents from Binger made the trip to play in the roving monthly bingo game.
