Canute Schools Wall of Fame

Lani Woodson was born in April of 2006 in Elk City, Oklahoma. She is the daughter of Josh and Lori Woodson. She has two siblings. Noah Woodson, age 18, and Lily Woodson, age 10. Lani is currently an eighth grader at Canute Public Schools. She is actively involved at school.

SWOSU Upward Bound accepting apps from seven high schools, including BFDC, Canute

Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford continues to offer an educational opportunity to eligible high school students with no costs to families. Upward Bound is a federally funded college prep program that offers services to qualified high school students.

FIGHT FOR MASON

The Cordell community is rallying around 15-year-old Mason Curnett and his family. Mason of Cordell recently was diagnosed with anaplastic large cell lymphoma and immediately started chemotherapy. Brittney Neeley organized a GoFundMe page to help support Mason and his family.

County tallies 2 more COVID-19-related deaths

The Oklahoma State Department of Health reports that two more people have died in Washita County due to COVID-19 and the number is up some from a week ago. The two additional deaths bring to five the total number of people who have died in the county.
