Cordell Baptist Village names new facility manager

Baptist Village Communities is thrilled to welcome Alicia Holt to Baptist Village of Cordell as the new village manager. Born and raised in Cordell, Alicia graduated from Cordell High School and the University of Central Oklahoma.

Cary Brian Cunningham, 45 years old, from Sentinel was booked into jail on May 6 for Assault and Battery Resulting In Great Bodily Harm. Taos Wade Pool, 36 years old, from Marlow was arrested on May 13 for Driving Under the Influence Of Alcohol and Unauthorized Use Of A Vehicle.

Sheriff’s Office asking for public’s help in identifying suspect in dispensary business burglary

Sweet Leaf Medz dispensary in Canute was broken into on Saturday, May 30. Two suspects can be seen on the dispensary’s video surveillance footage as they appear to break the window to the front door entrance before entering the shop.

Elk City Route 66 Festival and Block Party promises family fun

The Elk City Chamber of Commerce announces the Route 66 Festival and Block Party Elk City...these activities start on Friday, June 11 with Block Party Elk City and Saturday, June 12, with the Route 66 Festival both will be held in downtown Elk City.

10 YEARS AGO On the week of June 10, 2011 the Cordell Pool announced that it would be open from 9am to noon from Tuesday through Saturday for water walkers. A canute swimmer, Dillian Matthew Keith, age 17, drowned in foss lake on Friday, June 3, 2011.

Darla Ringo appointed to Oklahoma Abstractors Board

DARLA RINGO With a long history working in the Cordell abstract office, Darla Ringo has now been appointed to the Oklahoma Abstractors Board. The Oklahoma Abstractors Board oversees all abstract companies in the state.

YAY FOR SWIM TIME!

After many weeks of uncertainty for Cordell residents, the pool is now officially ready to open. The Cordell Public Pool will open on Wednesday, June, 9th from 1 to 6 p.m. and will kick things off with a free swim day. The pools operating hours are Tuesday through Sunday from 1 to 6 p.m.
