Washita County has recorded its seventh death attributed to COVID-19, the Oklahoma State Department of Health has reported.
The latest death is a female 65 or older, the OSDH says.
The increase in positive cases in Washita County over the past week has risen a little, the OSDH reported.
The total number testing positive in the county is now 1,024. It was 993 a week ago, an increase of 31 over last week. Two weeks ago the number was 968 and three weeks ago it stood at 937.
Of the 1,024 cases, 962 have recovered, the OSDH said.
Of the positive cases, Cordell has the most with 312. Of those, 291 have recovered. Last week there were 301 positive cases. Of those, 273 had recovered.
Burns Flat, which had 136 a week ago, now has 139 positive cases, the second highest number in the county. Of those, 132 have recovered, the OSDH said.
Burns Flat also has one of the reported deaths in the county.
Canute has 127 compared to 123 last week and has the third highest number in the county. Sentinel has 105. Of the 127 cases in Canute, 117 have recovered and 98 have recovered in Sentinel.
Sentinel has recorded its first death, the OSDH reports.
Other communities in Washita County reporting positive cases and the number recovered include: Dill City 61 and 60; Rocky 35 and 33.
Statewide as of Monday 404,994, people have tested positive, there have been 3,817 deaths and 374,950 who have recovered. Active cases stand at 26,227, the OSDH said.
Last week there were 390,868 testing positive, there had been 3,564 deaths and 358,040 had recovered. There were 29,264 active cases a week ago.
This week on Monday, the OSDH reported 1,024 new positive cases confirmed and four additional deaths.
The OSDH reports more than 2,880,000 people have tested negative.
