The Washita County Farm Bureau Women’s Committee and Washita County Board held a meeting August 11, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. in the County office in Cordell. The meeting started with a prayer and a meal of pizza served by Farm Bureau.
Jordan Cook called the Women’s Meeting to order at 6:45. Lowayne Piercey gave a Thought of the Day, using 2 Corinthians 5:7. God has been good.
Flag Salute and minutes were read by Lowayne. Plans for the Barnyard Olympics were discussed and the Farm Bureau will sponsor the program once again at the Washita County Fair August 27th. Entries will be taken at 6:00 and games start at 6:30. All students are invited with groups of 3 with 3 age groups competing.
Governor Kevin Stitt will be coming to Cordell August 14 at 2:10 and members plan to attend. The Governor plans a 77 County farewell tour.
Keith and Aaron Schneberger will serve as Washita County Farm Bureau Farm Family for 2026. Washita County will serve on the Resolutions Committee at the State Convention in 2026. Nocona Cook was named to the US Environmental Protection Agency’s Farm, Ranch and Rural Communities Federal Advisory Committee.
Nocona Cook went to the Capitol for Ag Day. Jordan and Nocona presented Al and Preg Check class for youth of Washita County at their farm with 12 attending. Cook’s entered with the Fire Truck in the Mt View parade.
Emma Bingham and Lowayne attended the Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Conference April 24 and 25. The Washita County Women’s Committee took cakes to the Fire Department Fund Raiser for Bread Day April 12. Cook’s, Pecks and Pierceys attended Farm Bureau District 2 meeting and AG Fund in Hobart May 18. Lowayne attended the Washita County Fair planning program July 21 and will attend August 18. The Farm Bureau will help sponsor the Fair entertainment for the children for 2026. Farm Bureau Committee members gave donations to the Coats for Kids.
The Farm Bureau Women will read AG Correct Books September 8 thru 11 to county schoolchildren. The County Annual Meeting date will be set and will have a bingo party and hot dog party again this year. The location of the meeting is to be determined.
Friends and Family will be invited. Annual meeting business and Resolutions will be held during the activity..
