Can you tell us a little about yourself?

My name is Carlie Rae Banks. I’m a sixteen year old sophomore at Cordell High School. I work at Mike’s Meats and I love to go out and eat with my friends, listen to all kinds of music and goof around with my dogs, Winnie, Opal and Diesel.

How has your school year been so far? Has anything really exciting happened?

I just found out that I’m receiving a letter jacket for being in the top ten percent of my class! I was also named as Student Of The Second Nine Weeks.

What are some of your favorite moments from this year?

I had a blast going with the best officer team to the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis back in October. It was a long drive, but it was worth it! I also had lots of fun at my Shooting Sports Competitions at the COLT Conference.

What has been your favorite and least favorite part of school and why?

My favorite part of school is seeing my friends, learning new subjects and my Animal Science class.

Are you in any sports, clubs or other extracurricular activities?

I am a midfielder on the Lady Blue Devils Soccer Team, a member of the FFA Shooting Sports Team and the Treasurer of the Cordell FFA Chapter.

Is there anything you are looking forward to for the second half of the school year?

I’m really excited for our soccer season to start. I’m also looking forward to attending the State FFA Convention this spring.

Who are your parents?

Clint and Cindy Banks

What motivates you to be the best student/athlete you can be?

My biggest motivators are my teachers, coaches, friends and family.

When you’re not in school, what do you like to do? How do you enjoy spending your free time?

In my free time I enjoy taking pictures. I love to photograph my friends sporting events and I’ve even had the pleasure of taking some of their senior pictures! I also love taking pics of the sunrises and sunsets, and I really enjoy practicing shooting with my dad.

What are your plans for after you graduate? What type of career are you interested in pursuing?

After I graduate, I plan on attending SWOSU to study Elementary Education.
