Bring the magic of Christmas to a child in need this holiday season. Presented by multiple businesses in Cordell, there are ways to bring a smile and joy to a child facing adversity.
Wookies Tattoo and Body Piercing, located at 210 E 1st St., is hosting its 15th annual Toy Drive. Those who want to donate a toy must bring a new unwrapped toy valued at $20, whether a single toy or several, for a child, boy or girl, aged six months to 16 years. Participants must have their receipt present to receive a voucher for half off a piercing of their choice, $50 off a tattoo priced over $200, or half off retail jewelry. Vouchers from the Toy Drive are valid through February 1, 2024. All the toys must be donated by December 23 and will stay local to help struggling families.
“I wouldn’t be able to do what I do without the support and donations from my clients and the community. I appreciate every single one of you.”
“No child should ever wake up Christmas morning without toys, and with everybody’s help, I think we can make sure our community plus some will be covered,” stated Rachel Jones, owner of Wookies Tattoo and Body Piercing.
Cordell Memorial Hospital (CMH) is helping spread Christmas joy to children in Washita County through their Angel Tree located at 1220 N. Glenn English. Pick an Angel from the tree to bless this holiday season. Participants can return their Angel’s toys in gift bags to the hospital reception desk. CMH will host their Angel Tree until 5:00 p.m. December 15.
Iron Fitness, formerly Code Blue, has also organized its annual Angel Tree. This Christmas, help bring magic to a child, or several, by choosing an Angel from the tree. Tags and gifts are due back to Iron Fitness, located at 111 South College St., by December 18.
If you understand the power of gift-giving and can help spread holiday cheer, consider choosing a local Angel or donate to your local toy drive this Christmas.
