School bells set to ring at Cordell Public Schools

Ready or not, the school bells are about to ring! With just a few sleeps left before students head back to class, Cordell Public Schools is making the start of the 20262027 school year a little less stressful and a whole lot more exciting for families.

Forget the frantic hunt for the last glue stick or the indecisive choice of which pencil case to get. Thanks to the Cordell Public Schools administration and members of the Board of Education, every Cordell Elementary student in Pre-K through sixth grade will have their school supplies provided for the entire school year.

As if that wasn’t enough to make parents smile, there’s more good news on the menu.

For the 2026-2027 school year, every Cordell Public Schools student, from Pre-K through 12th grade, will receive free breakfast and lunch. That’s one less thing for families to worry about as they settle into the new school routine.

Families who are new to the district can enroll students on Wednesday, August 5, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Cordell Elementary Library. New student enrollment requires a birth certificate, shot records, Social Security card, and two proofs of residence.

Elementary students won’t have to wait long to see their classrooms and familiar faces. Meet the Teacher will be held on Tuesday, August 11, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Cordell Elementary. It’s the perfect opportunity for students to meet their teacher, find their classroom, and feel a little less nervous about the first day of classes on Wednesday, August 12.

Whether your child is walking into school for the very first time or counting down the days to reunite with friends, the first day of school will be here before you know it!
