Cordell Blue Devil Marching Band students, under the direction of Mr. Aaron Edge, recently participated in The Southwestern Oklahoma Band Directors Association (SWOBDA) All-Region Honor Band auditions. Students showed up and showed out, with 10 musicians making the cut. Out of these 10, five of them were 1st Chair in their instrument group, and three more were in the top five for their section.
Congratulations to the following outstanding students: Adam Lindsey - 1st chair trombone (wind ensemble); Nathan Jackson - 4th chair trumpet (symphonic band); Morgan Dixon - 1st chair tenor saxophone 9th grade; Turner Jones - 1st chair alto saxophone 9th grade; Samuel Lindsey - 10th chair trumpet 9th grade; Kody Belding - 1st chair clarinet 7th grade; Colin Dixon - 2nd chair trumpet 7th grade; Andrew Willard - 1st chair tuba; Aiden Willard - 5th chair trombone 7th grade; Bryton Yaeger - 4th chair alto saxophone 7th grade.
Mr. Edge said “It is no secret that we have incredible musicians in Cordell who work [extremely hard] and practice until they are fantastic players and people, and these honor bands only prove that!”
