The Washita County Election Board has announced that a Primary Election will be held for Board of Education Office No. 5 in multiple Washita County school districts on Tuesday, February 11, 2025. State law mandates a primary election be held if more than two candidates file for the same school board office.
In Cordell, Seat #5 is currently held by Nocona Cook. He has filed to keep this position and is being opposed by Dale Selman and Randi Hunter.
Voters in the Canute school district will have a choice between Chris Kirk and Dustin DeGarmo.
Filing unopposed for Burns Flat- Dill City Seat #5 was Jill Birdwell. Sentinel Schools also had a single candidate, Bryan Nichols, who filed his candidacy for Seat #5, and Western Technology Center’s Seat #5 will go to Rudy J. Mayfield.
