Oklahoma State University recognized Cordell Public Schools’ Mrs. Kathy Wedel as a “Teacher of the Game,” honoring her dedication to education. As the junior high and high school academic coach, the gifted and talented teacher, and the 7th-grade science teacher, Mrs. Wedel is a foundation for Cordell’s academic community. Pistol Pete announced Mrs. Wedel’s achievement during a surprise visit to Cordell Schools on Friday, October 25th. Blue Sky Bank representative Landon Jones presented her with a $1,000.00 check. She also received four tickets to an OSU home football game. Mrs. Wedel will be recognized at Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater, OK, on Saturday, November 23rd, during the Cowboys’ final home game of the 2024 season. This special Senior Day event will see OSU facing off against Texas Tech at 2:30 p.m. Mrs. Wedel’s educational contributions will be celebrated on the field and the big screen, highlighting her outstanding impact on Cordell’s students and the community.
