The Cordell Masonic Lodge #127, Ancient Free and Accepted Masons, is stepping up to the plate to support a member of our community in need by hosting a Smoked Chicken Fundraiser Dinner. This heartwarming event, set to benefit Kara Dowell, will be held on Sunday, November 17, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Washita County Activity Center at 1005 E 3rd St., Cordell. Each meal costs $10, and every cent goes directly towards the Dowell family to support Kara’s recovery expenses.
Kara, who suffered severe injuries in a car accident on the evening of September 9, has been on a challenging journey to recovery. This event is an opportunity for anyone who knows Kara or is touched by her story to come together, enjoy a delicious meal, and contribute to her healing.
The menu has been thoughtfully crafted by the Masonic Lodge members to provide a delicious and comforting meal. It features smoked chicken quarters, baked beans, red potatoes, and dessert.
In addition to purchasing meals, attendees are welcome to make further contributions. And for those who can’t attend the fundraiser but wish to offer support, donations are warmly welcomed. Checks can be made payable to the Cordell Masonic Lodge #127, with “Dowell” noted in the memo, and cash donations will be accepted as well. The Smoked Chicken Fundraiser Dinner reflects the Cordell Masonic Lodge’s mission of service and brotherhood. In times of need, this community has always come together to support one another, and the Masons invite the community to join in on their effort to lend a helping hand in Kara’s recovery.
