After three short months, Great Plains Kubota Cordell, formerly Lindley Farm Equipment, is closing their Cordell Kubota location and relocating to Clinton.
Cordell will unfortunately lose the much-needed sales tax dollars attributed to the dealership.
The dealership’s name will change to Great Plains Clinton and be located at the old Dusty Ballard Chevrolet-GMC facility at the crossroads of U.S. 183 and Interstate 40.
Great Plains Kubota President Bill Clark said they have been working to purchase the property for about six months and the transaction was finalized last week.
He briefly mentioned that there is need for some remodeling and prep work to be done but he is estimating to open the Clinton location and close Cordell in the late summer or early fall.
“Everyone in the Cordell store has been given the opportunity to transfer to Clinton. Ironically, most of them already live in the Clinton area and are looking forward to a shorter drive to work,” explained Clark.
“I love the town of Cordell and I hate to see a business leave there. Clinton is just a more central location for our market and our customers,” Clark continued.
Jessica Barker, a 22-year employee of Lindley Equipment, will be the Manager of the Clinton location.
