Cordell Swimming Pool officially opening May 26

Sunday, May 26 will signal the start of swimming season at Cordell’s public pool. Admission will be free for the first day.

Normal admission fees will be as follows: Senior Citizens (65 and older): $2.00 / day, Adults (12-64): $4.00 / day, Student (5-11): $3.00 / day, and Children 4 and under: Free.

In addition, season passes will be available and can be purchased at the City Office at the following rates: Individual Child (ages 5-11): $65.00, Individual Adult (ages 12 and over): $85.00, Family (up to 6 persons): $115.00, with each additional person: $20.00.

Private pool parties can be booked through the manager at the pool lobby. Parties with 1-25 guests will cost $50, 26-50 guests will cost $75, and the rate for over 100 guests will be $100.00. Party times are available in two-hour slots in the evenings. The schedule fills quickly, so patrons are urged to book their parties early.

The previously announced times for Water Walkers have changed. The pool will be open for water walking on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday mornings from 9 a.m. until noon. Water walking is for adults only.

This year, children 8 and older can attend the pool without an accompanying adult. Previously that age was 12. All children ages 7 and younger must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

In an effort to provide a safer space for babies and toddlers, no children above the age of 5 will be allowed in the baby pool area.

Mayor Phil Kliewer said the City is pleased to have Elyse Chagollia as pool Manager again this year.

“Elyse did a wonderful job of promoting our pool last year as well as keeping chemicals in balance and maintaining a fun and safe environment for families. We are pleased she is going to manage the pool again this summer,” Mayor Kliewer stated.
