Three candidates have filed for the unexpired term of Board Member- Seat 3 on the Cordell School Board. Daniel Kennedy, who is currently filling the position which was vacated by Mike Reimer’s resignation earlier this year, is being opposed by Parker Christian and Cole Gregg.
Levi Jones filed to keep his position as Board Member- Seat 4 and is being opposed by Danielle Dick Ivey.
The Primary Election will be held Tuesday, February 13th, 2024. If one candidate receives more than 50% of the votes, that candidate will be named the elected official.
If no candidate receives more than 50% of the votes, the two candidates receiving the highest number of votes will vie for the seat during the Board of Education General Election, Tuesday, April 2nd, 2024.
In other Washita County School Board openings, only single candidates filed, so no election will be held for those.
Jeff Headrick filed for the Burns Flat – Dill City School Board Seat No. 4, Floyd Twyman filed for the Canute School Board Seat No. 4, Craig Towery filed for Sentinel School Board Seat No. 4, and Derrel Nutley filed for Western Technology Center School Board Seat No. 4.
