With the 2023 Cordell Pumpkin Festival being only a month away, Cordell Chamber of Commerce event planner Sarah Lau says there are still plenty of ways to get involved with this great Cordell tradition.
One particularly fun event is the Pumpkin Festival Parade. School groups, clubs, church groups, businesses and individuals are all encouraged to participate by building a float, hauling a trailer, walking, biking or using any other creative means of locomotion during the parade which will begin at 10 a.m. on October 14th. Lineup will start around 9:30 a.m. in front of the Cordell Library on South College Street.
Parade directors Rachel Jones and Lynda Vermillion hope this parade will be the biggest yet. One new addition that they would like to see in the parade is children and families in their Halloween costumes. There will be a section of the parade for those in costume. This is a great chance to show off those creative and fun Halloween outfits!
Kids can decorate their bicycles to ride in the parade. The Cordell Beacon is sponsoring a $25 prize for the best decorated bicycle.
This year’s festival is shaping up to be bigger and better than ever! While all food truck spaces have been filled, there are still other vendor spaces available.
